Inreach Ministries

The ministers of the church are all of its people. At the end of each of our worship services, we are all called to go out into the world to love and serve. To this end, Trinity Cathedral provides countless opportunities for service and outreach to the community and to the world. Members of our congregation possess a wealth of talent and enthusiasm, and opportunities exist for any level of commitment—from one-time projects to regular weekly or monthly or yearly ministries. We invite you to join with the members of our congregation who seek and serve Christ in others by means of these ministries.

All Saints Guild
This group exercises the ministries of compassion and service by assisting in the planning and conduct of funerals and funeral receptions held at Trinity Cathedral.  They help establish a climate of welcome and love for those who might not be familiar with Trinity Cathedral or our funeral liturgies.  For more information about this ministry or to inquire about joining the All Saints Guild, contact either of the Guild’s Contact Joan Baldridge at 501-664-6260, or Coralie Maxwell at 501-217-8648.

St. Catherine of Sienna Card Ministry
Members of this rewarding team ministry monthly send cards and notes to members, families, and friends of Trinity who are in the hospital or who are homebound and to those in the military. This is a team ministry where members send cards a month at a time on a rotation. Each member sends cards on the average of once or twice during the year.

Trinity Health Ministry Team
Jesus calls us to teach, preach, and heal. The Ministry of Healing is the primary focus of the Trinity Health Care Team. The mission of the team is to help people stay healthy and to help those who are sick navigate through the health system. Penny Fox leads a team that performs blood pressure screenings the second Sunday of every other month after each service: October 10, December 12, February 13, and April 10. They hope to provide flu shots in the Fall. Trinity members of the team are also mentors who have had experience in health issues such as cancer, diabetes, mental health, kidney disease, and many other medical problems. They are available to share their experience with others with similar health issues. The team has an outreach ministry by participating in local health clinics and fairs. The team also plans a celebration of those in health professions on St. Luke’s Day each year.

Prayer Shawl and Baby Blanket Ministry
Care and the love of knitting (and crocheting) have been combined into a prayerful ministry that reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace. Many blessings are knitted into every shawl. The knitter begins each shawl with prayers for the recipient. Intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl. When the shawl is completed it is offered a final blessing before being sent along its way. As this gift has been sent along, some recipients have continued the kindness by making one themselves and passing it onto someone in need. The first four Prayer Shawls were dedicated at the 10:00 a.m. service on June 3, 2007. Shawls will be given to homebound and sick and those especially needing our prayers.  As of 2010, 90 shawns have been given.  The group also makes baby blankets for newborn members of Trinity.

Altar Guild
The Trinity Cathedral Altar Guild serves an ancient and sacred function by preparing the altar for Holy Communion at each service, to the worship and glory of God.  After each service, the altar and credence tables are cleared, vessels and dishes are cleaned, and preparations are made to prepare the church for the next service.  Special Altar Guild services may be requested for ordination and diocesan events, weddings, funerals, and other special services throughout the church year.  All interested people are welcome to join and become further acquainted with the accoutrements of the sanctuary.  If you would like to join us or would like more information on the Altar Guild, please contact the Cathedral office by email or by phone at 501-372-0294.
