Matthew 25

I was hungry and you gave me food. (Matthew 25:35)

The Matthew 25 committee coordinates and supports activities at Trinity that help feed the hungry, and support those in need of direct assistance. Serving on the committee is a great way to be involved with these efforts. All are invited to participate in the various drives, dinners, and events that Matthew 25 hosts throughout the year. For meeting times and other information please contact Jerry Shurgar, Committee Head, at wgs3@sbcglobal.net

Ongoing Opportunities

Saint Francis House
Saint Francis House is a ministry of the Episcopal churches of Little Rock and provides emergency assistance to our homeless and veteran communities. Every Tuesday, from 10:00-4:00 p.m. you can volunteer to help sort donations and assist with other ongoing projects at their Elm Street location. To get involved with TRINITY TUESDAYS, SIGN UP HERE

Our donation box for Saint Francis House is located in Morrison Hall next to the water fountain. All year, you can bring gently used clothing and household items, place them in the box, and volunteers will pick up and deliver the items weekly to the Clothing Room at St. Francis.

Manna Bags
Manna bags are located in the church office or baskets at the Cathedral entrances and are for any parishioner to give to someone in need of immediate relief. These bags are continually stuffed and distributed; if you would like to contribute to this ministry, please bring the following items to the church office at any time:

Non-perishable food items (ex: granola or protein bars, ready-to-eat snacks and meals, small canned goods, candy, etc)
Water bottles
Toiletries (ex: oral hygiene products, small soaps/shampoos, mints/gum, chapstick, tissues)
In winter: caps, gloves, hats, hand warmers

Stewpot
For over 30 years, Trinity has had a team at Stewpot which serves hot meals 5 days a week at First Presbyterian Church downtown. Bring items to donate to their clothing closet to the church office. They are always in need of men's shoes and pants, any size. For more information contact Kay Shurgar at 501-681-4407.

Once-a-Year Events

Mother's Day Purse Drive (May)
In the weeks leading up to Mother's Day, bring a new or gently used purse filled with gifts like jewelry, soaps, lotions, scarves, etc. These will be delivered to children at Dorcas House, St. Francis House, Our House, & the Children's Hospital for kids to give to their moms on Mother's Day.

Dorcas House Thanksgiving Dinner (November)
The day before Thanksgiving, we deliver a pre-cooked Thanksgiving dinner (turkey and all!) to the women and children at Dorcas House. Participate by signing up to drive food over or contribute financially to the purchasing of the meal.

Undie Sunday (As Needed)
In order to replenish the supply of new/clean underwear, Trinity occasionally hosts an "Undie Sunday" where people can bring packs of new underwear to be delivered to those in need.
