Class Descriptions:

  • Can You Dig It? Growing Your Garden (Lower Mitchell House): Gardening aficionado Coralie Maxwell and Randy Forst from the UofA Extension Service love to share gardening hints and information to make the most of your gardening experience - be it large or small.
  • Relationships 101 (Morrison Hall): Chelsea Wakefield, PhD, Assistant Professor of UAMS and Director of the Couples Center will lead this four-week class. Whether you are just starting a relationship, or you have been in a committed one for years, Dr. Wakefield's innovative and approachable style will help you interact with your partner in healthy and fun ways. Her books, In Search of Aphrodite: Women, Archetypes and Sex Therapy, and Negotiating the Inner Peace Treaty: Becoming the Person You Were Born to Be, will be available.

    • January 11: What Is a Good Relationship? How Do You Know You Are In One?
    • January 18: Navigating Difficult Conversations: Get the Tools You Need to Listen, Stay Cool and Get Your Real Needs Met.
    • February 1: The Mythology of Sexuality: Why Sex Has Very Little to Do with Behavior.
    • February 8: How to Have a Healthy, Long-Term Relationship.

Sunday at Trinity Cathedral:

Preaching this Sunday: The Very Rev. Dr. Christoph Keller, III

Sunday Adult Formation:

  • The Dean's Class will be led by the Rev. Amber Carswell. The topic is "Class Preview: Gay & Faithful."
  • Living the Questions will join meet in the Library/Lounge of Cathedral House at 10:15 a.m. to discuss "The Missing 2 Chapters of Genesis on Abe, Ishmael, and Isaac?"
  • Inwardly Digest meets at 10:15 a.m. in the Bishop's Conference Room. Inwardly Digest is a 10-week study of how to use The Book of Common Prayer as a guide to spiritual life, led by the Rev. Deb Cooper and Randy Irwin.
  • Inquirers' Class meets in Baker Parlor at 10:15 a.m. The Rev. Amber Carswell and the Rev. Russ Snapp lead this class designed for newcomers. All are welcome to come and learn about the basics of what it means to be an Episcopalian.

Children's Formation meets at 10:10 a.m. for all ages.  It's never too late to join.  You can find more on Children's Formation here.

EYC:

  • Youth (Grades 6-12) will meet in Lower Mitchell during the formation hour.
  • EYC will meet at Botsford House at 5:00 p.m.

Evensong:

Evensong will continue this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the Chancel. Immediately following Evensong, social time featuring British tea and other light refreshments will be held in Baker Parlor. A brief liturgy of Holy Communion will also be offered in the chapel after.

Relationship Enrichment Series
Chelsea Wakefield, leader of our Relationships 101 class, is offering a Relationship Enrichment Series at UAMS February 14, 21, 28 and March 14, 21, & 28. Topics include Meaningful Connection, Quagmires of Sexuality, Defining Your Relationship Style and more. Cost is $375 per person or $600 per couple. Enrollment limited. Contact 526-8288 to register.

Diocesan Convention
Trinity Cathedral will host the 145th annual convention of The Diocese of Arkansas, which will be held on February 17 and 18. Chairs for the convention are John Stanley and Michael McNeely. Volunteers from the Cathedral parish are needed to make this an outstanding event of worship and fellowship for our diocesan family. Email jhstanley99@yahoo.com or mcneelymichaelk@uams.edu

Trinity-Bethel Youth Sunday
On February 19 at the 9:00 a.m. service, we will have a combined Bethel AME and Trinity Youth Sunday with youth from both churches participating. We also will have a special choir sing. If you would like to sing for this service, there are two rehearsals:  Saturday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. and Saturday, February 18 at 10:00 a.m. Both will take place in the Cathedral. Even if you don't participate in any other choir, but you would like to sing at this service - we want you! Anyone is welcome to attend these rehearsals, regardless of age.

“Hot Under the Collar”
Join us on Sunday, February 26 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church’s Parish Hall for “Hot Under the Collar: Priest Roast-and-Toast,” including a roast of our own Dean and Rector Dr. Christoph Keller, III, roasted by Jack Harvey and Clarke Tucker. Proceeds from this fundraiser will fund new mattresses for Camp Mitchell. A catered dinner, wine, and soft drinks are included in the ticket price.  Tickets are $50.00 per person ($30 is tax-deductible), cash or check (made out to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church), and will be available Sunday mornings in Morrison Hall, see Herschel Cast, casth@yahoo.com, or online at st-marks.com.
