Lenten Retreat with Barbara Cawthorne Crafton

Barbara Cawthorne Crafton, Episcopal priest and author, will lead a one-day lenten retreat at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Newport, AR on Saturday, March 25, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Parish House and luncheon will be served. The retreat is free, but reservations must be made by emailing Annie Burton at annie@trinitylittlerock.org.  Annie will be driving the van for anyone who does not wish to drive.  We will leave from the church parking lot at 7:00 a.m.

  • Can You Dig It? Growing Your Garden (Staff Lounge): Gardening aficionado Coralie Maxwell and Randy Forst from the UofA Extension Service love to share gardening hints and information to make the most of your gardening experience - be it large or small.
  • Relationships 101 (Morrison Hall): Chelsea Wakefield, PhD, Assistant Professor of UAMS and Director of the Couples Center will lead this four-week class. Whether you are just starting a relationship, or you have been in a committed one for years, Dr. Wakefield's innovative and approachable style will help you interact with your partner in healthy and fun ways. Her books, In Search of Aphrodite: Women, Archetypes and Sex Therapy, and Negotiating the Inner Peace Treaty: Becoming the Person You Were Born to Be, will be available.

    • January 11: What Is a Good Relationship? How Do You Know You Are In One?
    • January 18: Navigating Difficult Conversations: Get the Tools You Need to Listen, Stay Cool and Get Your Real Needs Met.
    • February 1: The Mythology of Sexuality: Why Sex Has Very Little to Do with Behavior.
    • February 8: How to Have a Healthy, Long-Term Relationship.

Each week will cover a different aspect of prayer and introduce a myriad of poetry to help you pray along.
  • Coloring with Jane Hankins (Staff Lounge): Want to clear your mind and get your creative juices flowing? Join artist Jane Hankins for a laid-back hour of coloring and conversation with her new coloring books. For ages 12- 122.
  • Relationships 101 (Morrison Hall): Relationships 101 will not meet this week.

    • February 1: The Mythology of Sexuality: Why Sex Has Very Little to Do with Behavior.

Howard Payne University Choir Concert

The Howard Payne University Concert Choir from Brownwood, TX will present their touring concert "Creator Created Creating: My Maker’s Bounding Line" on Saturday evening, January 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cathedral.   This concert is drawn from "The Creation" by Joseph Haydn with many other choral masterpieces and composers represented, all of which refer to the act of creation.  Doors open at 6:00 p.m. for this free concert. ASO Intimate Neighborhood Concert
Thursday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m., experience some of the most beautiful orchestral music ever written in the unique environment of our Victorian nave cast in the candles glow.  The highlight of the evening is Franz Josef Haydn’s Symphony No. 43 in E-flat, the “Mercury.” The program opens with the Celestial Fantasy of Hovhannes, followed by Richard Wagner’s Wessendonck Lieder.  Tickets $25 for general admission or $10 for students/military at arkansassymphony.org or 501-666-1761, ext. 100.

Culinary Classes

Starting February 7, Chef Chris Brewer, Certified Nutritionist, will be offering health-conscious cooking and dietary knowledge classes.

The classes will be held the first three Tuesdays of each month from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in Morrison Hall. They will tackle the science behind sugars, carbs and fats. 

This three-class course is $100 per person.
