The Installation of the 20th Dean

The Rev. Dr. Christoph Keller, III, who was recently selected Dean and Rector of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock, will be installed as the 20th Dean and Rector of the Cathedral at a service on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at 4 p.m. The installation ceremony will be held at the Cathedral, 17th and Spring Streets in Little Rock, and is open to the public. Dr. Keller, who has served Trinity on an interim basis for the past 23 months, was appointed Dean by the Rt. Rev. Larry Benfield, Bishop of Arkansas, and elected Rector by the Vestry, or governing board of Trinity. The appointment and election were carried out concurrently. (A Dean in The Episcopal Church has the primary administrative, pastoral and liturgical responsibilities of the Cathedral.)

  • The Dean's Class: "His and Hers: Questions from a Young Couple," is led by Dr. Keller. This week? "His: I believe in Christian values and will strive to live my life in what I believe to be a Christian manner but I have struggled with achieving certainty in my belief in God.  In my mind, there is just no way to really know what’s truly going on.  What are your thoughts on that worldview?" We meet at 10:15 in Morrison Hall.
  • Living the Questions will meet in the Conference Room. The topics this week are “What Do You Do? Pearly Gates - What Did You Do?" + More on  Judas / Sliced Ear / Nude Man?" Dr. Robert Johnston  will lead a discussion. Attendees are invited but not required to participate. It is usually lively. Bring in your brunch.

Alternative Market

It is that time of year! Christmas is in the air! Trinity’s Alternative Market will be held Sunday, November 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in Morrison Hall.

Please join us for gingerbread, apple cider and cookies. Advent wreaths and candles for the home will be available. There will be opportunities to purchase gifts that keep on giving throughout the year.

Our vendors this year are Camp Mitchell, Feed the Hungry, Harmony Clinic, Heifer International, EYC, Mount Holly Cemetery, Needlepoint Guild, Flower Guild, Our House, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Rice Depot, Saint Francis House, and Stewpot.

Eric Metaxas Book Study #2

A second book study on Miracles by Eric Metaxas will be offered on Tuesdays, beginning November 24 and ending December 15. There are two studies available: Brown Bag discussion at 11:45 or Happy Hour at 5:30. Childcare is available at 5:30 with advanced reservations. Stewardship 2016

The 2016 Stewardship Campaign is underway and making good progress toward our goal of One Million and One Dollars.  THANK YOU to all of you who have turned in your pledge card for next year.  We are aiming for Thanksgiving as the time to complete the campaign allowing for the Vestry and Finance Committee to establish next year’s budget in December.  So if you have not turned in your card, please mail it to the Church office or drop it in the offering plate on Sunday.  You can also contact Sherry in the Church office by phone or email.

EYC: Sunday we will take some time to reflect on all our blessings - and that includes each one of YOU!  Please bring your favorite Thanksgiving dish - and we will have our own Thanksgiving and talk about what makes this holiday special to us.  We'll even do a craft or two and play games (of course!). Please bring all your friends for which you are grateful, too! RSVP with what you're bringing - so there's more than just pumpkin pie for dinner!  (Although, really, that might be just fine!)
