Notice of Proposed Amendments to the Bylaws

January 07, 2016

Upon the advice of our Chancellor Clarke Tucker, the Dean and Vestry are recommending changes to the parish bylaws, for consideration and action at the Annual Meeting on January 31. The impetus for change was a decision to close an entity called the Cathedral Corporation, which had owned the Cathedral School buildings and has not been active for several years. A few other changes—mostly by way of language clean-up—are being proposed for consideration. The Chancellor will walk us through the proposed changes at the meeting before the vote.

Funeral Notice

January 05, 2016

Dear Members of the Episcopal Collegiate School Community:

As you know, we lost a beloved member of our extended family over the Christmas Break with the passing of Mr. Hoyt “Chip” Parks on December 24, 2015.

Such a loss is difficult for any family, but even more difficult during the holidays. I know that each of us has had Mr. Parks in our thoughts and prayers and that we continue to offer support and prayers for Mrs. Debbie Parks and her sons, Jered and Blake, as they mourn the loss of  their husband and father.

A memorial service celebrating Mr. Parks’ life and service to Episcopal Collegiate School is planned for Saturday, January 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, which is located at 310 W. 17th Street in
Little Rock. All members of the community are invited to attend the service.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Episcopal Collegiate School and designated to the Mr. Hoyt “Chip” Parks Memorial Fund.

A Christmas Message from the Dean and Julie

December 23, 2015

Dear People of Trinity Cathedral,

Christmas is upon us!

There is no day like it in the year. Come nightfall, Christmas Eve doesn’t just speak—itsingsto us of the love of God in Christ for all the earth. And it shines a light that reaches into the darkest corners of our lives with hopeful possibilities. The next morning, a beautiful quiet descends upon the city.

These past several weeks you have showered us with cards, notes, and gifts to make us feel loved, appreciated, and important. These are wonderful feelings. We pray that, this Christmas—some way, somehow—these same feelings will get through to you.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Chris and Julie
