Class Descriptions:
- Embracing the Prophets (Conference Room): Who were the Prophets? Were they ancient meddlers who enjoyed prognosticating about future events? Were they social activists crying out for reform? Or, were they messengers from God, standing in judgment over the political and religious leaders of the times? To find the answers, join a study by Dr. Walter Brueggemann, facilitated by George Harper.
- Advent in the Home (Baker Parlor): Christmas has increasingly become a holiday cut off from its purpose of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. It is, therefore, important for us to recapture the season of Advent as a time for preparing for Christmas. Advent comes from the Latin word adventus, meaning “coming.” Advent begins the church year, starting four Sundays before Christmas. The season of Advent has been set aside as a time of preparation for Christmas since at least the last half of the 6th century. Advent is a time for self-examination and asking for forgiveness as the church is preparing for Christ’s Second Coming even as it prepares for Christmas. Join Susan Allen as she presents some different and meaningful ways to bring Advent into your home this year.
- Crafty for Christmas (Staff Lounge): Love this time of year but feel like you never have time to do all those fun and creative Christmas ideas you found on Pinterest? Just show up and we will create some holiday crafts to make all your friends think you are the next Martha Stewart. Led by Annie Burton. For ages 12 - 122.

Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church
The Most Reverend Michael Bruce Curry was installed as the 27th Presiding Bishop and Primate of The Episcopal Church on November 1, 2015 and was elected and confirmed at the 78th General Convention of The Episcopal Church in Salt Lake City, UT, on June 27, 2015. He is the Chief Pastor and serves as president and CEO of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society and chair of the Executive Council of The Episcopal Church. Presiding Bishop Curry has a national preaching and teaching ministry, having been featured on The Protestant Hour and as a frequent speaker at conferences around the country. He has authored numerous publications including columns for the Huffington Post and the Baltimore Times. His most recent book, Songs My Grandma Sang, was published in June 2015; Crazy Christians: A Call to Follow Jesus was his first book, in August 2013.

Advent Quiet Day, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Little Rock
Step out of the frantic holiday bustle for a quiet morning of guided prayer and reflection at the Cathedral. This is an opportunity to learn spiritual practices that can fuel our spirits throughout the year.
Our leader, the Rev. Steven Bonsey of Cambridge, Massachusetts, is the Co-founder and Director of Contemplative Training for the Leadership Development Institute of Boston, supporting especially the spiritual practices of Centering Prayer, Lectio Divina and Sacred Chant. He has trained in the Advanced Wisdom School with Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault, as well as with Ward Bauman at the House of Prayer. He served previously as the Canon Pastor at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Boston.
Steve is husband to Elisabeth (“Sam”) Keller, who grew up at Trinity and who is sister to the Dean. He will also preach and lead the Dean’s Class on December 11.
Christmas Pageant Dress Rehearsal this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Cathedral.

Saint Nicholas Day
November 30, 2016
Each year Saint Francis House prepares gifts for over 600 people living in high-rise public housing in Little Rock and North Little Rock. This year as part of Saint Nicholas Day on December 4, Trinity is asking that you bring three to four items, placed in a small Christmas bag, to one of the services. The children will be asked to help bring your gifts to the front of the church to be blessed.
Items requested include:
- Scarves
- Warm gloves
- Small umbrellas
- Box of tissues
- Hard candy
- Cups with lids
- Hand sanitizer
- Hand lotion
- Soaps
- Lap throws
- Small writing pads and pens
- Small packages of cookies/crackers

Facilitated by Beth McAlpine, Parent Educator at the Centers for Youth & Families. Cost: $40 per family – cash or check payment due on the first night of class.

Thursday at Trinity Cathedral
Trinity Chamber Music Series: The Lysander Trio
Thursday, November 17, 7:30 p.m.
The final fall concert will be presented by the Little Rock Chamber Music Society. An accomplished chamber music group from New York City, The Lysander Piano Trio has been praised by the Strad for its “incredible ensemble, passionate playing, articulate and imaginative ideas, and wide palette of colors.”
Concert tickets are $25 for open seating (students K-College get in free) and will be available at the door or through the Little Rock Chamber Music Society.
