Deacon in Training
September 16, 2015

We are pleased to announce that Bishop Benfield has reassigned Peggy Cromwell to Trinity Cathedral in Little Rock as a “deacon-in-training” under the auspices of the Iona Program. Two Sundays per month Peggy will be vested and participating liturgically. She will also be having discussions with the interim Dean on the pastoral aspects of diaconal ministry in a local congregation. Peggy’s time at the Cathedral will prepare her for assignment upon ordination.
Welcome back Peggy!
A Message About the Search for a New Dean and Rector
September 16, 2015
As reported to you on September 4, the Search Committee had completed its work and was prepared to recommend to the Vestry a candidate for Dean and Rector. However, on Tuesday afternoon that candidate withdrew from further consideration, choosing to stay at his parish to complete a three-year plan. Consequently we have and will continue to be in further conversations with the Bishop about re-opening the nationwide search process, and the next steps the committee and the Vestry will take.
While we are disappointed, we believe that what is best for our parish and the Cathedral has not yet been achieved, and are committed to continuing on the path in front of us. As the committee, the Vestry and the Bishop arrive at a consensus on immediate next steps, we will, of course, keep you informed.
Thank you.

The Mysteries of Christ
September 15, 2015
Starting this Sunday morning, Dr. Keller will offer a series called “The Mysteries of Christ.”
The mysteries of Christ are the heart of the life through which, as a theologian once put it, we are made to be strong in our weakness, to see in our blindness, and to hear in our deafness “by the One who, according to the Easter Story, goes through closed doors.”
